Part 3 | Let's Celebrate

Now that you've said your I'dos it's time to c-e-l-e-b-r-a-t-e!!! You for sure deserve it and this is the time to let loose and have some fun!

There's so many wedding traditions that go on during the reception like.. Your first dance, father/bride dance, mother/groom dance, the bouquet toss, garter toss, cutting the cake, making the toast, the dollar dance, and wedding party toasting to list a few. As far as what traditions you choose to incorporate into your reception is up to you and you can even create your own tradition if you are feeling creative :)

Having proper signs help wedding guests know the timeline of their evening & when you do it in a creative way it acts as decor for your wedding. Calligraphy and chalkboards are very trendy right now and a timeless look. Fun fact: this dried flower bouquet bought off Etsy by Artisty in Florals was used for my bridal portraits.

We did do a first dance. This was something we just couldn't pass up and as awkward as we felt ( we aren't the best dancers in the world) We dance to How Long Will i love you by Ellie Goulding.

Having a first dance is so symbolic and significant + it's always a great photo opportunity. I say symbolic because you will be dancing through life with your new partner and moments may be be slow and steady or running at a fast pace.

While dancing I felt many emotions and thoughts. I was so happy to be dancing with Mr. Cole, I felt like I was at an 8th grade dance dancing awkwardly, and then I felt over joyed to be sharing this one of a kind moment with my husband and surrounded by our loved ones.

Let's eat cake

I personally don't think there is such a thing to have too much cake. We didn't have grooms cake, but we did have multiple cakes thanks to Okie Cookies Catering for the cakes, the fresh flowers which I LOVE by Emerson Events, and we wanted the cake table to stand out from the rest so we brought in a wooden table by Kahoy Studios.

Having a wedding party table is fun and a nice way to sit with all of your friends. We created this family style table styled with a piece of wood cut for the center where we placed tea light candles and succulents in. We then added milk glass centerpieces and other air plants. The wedding party drank from mason jars and had feather shaped name cards. The Mr. and Mrs seat signs were created by Z Create Design bought off Etsy.

The grand exit

Having your guests send you off to your honeymoon at the end of the night is part of the reception although we strayed from this a little and just had our photographer take a few pictures of us in the groom's grandad's car. I think they are my favorite pictures of the day!

When planning out our reception we felt it was important that the guests stay and enjoy themselves and our photographer wasn't staying the entire time { you can always pay to have them stay, but we felt this was best for us so do what works for you}. After the ceremony and family pictures we went downstairs and snapped a few pictures before we signed the marriage license.

Funny story~ Signing the marriage license was a challenge and learning curve for all of us. This was my uncle's first wedding and the way he was taught was for an older license document. Don't worry we are legally married and managed to fill it out correctly

The night consisted of lots of hugs, laughing, smiling, dancing, and toasting. The maid of honor and best man gave wonderful toasts. I think I only cried once(this may be a slight fib)!

This is the last part to my best day ever! The day I became Mrs. Cole and was forever inspired to officially launch my business, Forever Cole Events.

I  have planned events and helped others plan their big days for the last 5 years.  I fell in love with the details, the fast paced environment, being creative, and being a part of everyone's journey. Now I have taken the leap and opened my services to the public. I have been so loved and received tremendous support. I am so thankful for a husband who supports my dreams and embraces all of my ideas.

Life is too short to do something that doesn't make you happy

& and helping others with their day fills me with joy. As I know the day can be overwhelming and at times stressful and I am here to help minimize the stress and make the day unforgettable.

I hope you all follow along on Forever Cole Events journey and check out my special pricing if you are a bride. I would absolutely love to be a part of your day. I treat each wedding differently as I know each bride and groom are unique and that is why I love my job!

Xo,
