11.15.14 | The Day I became Mrs Cole {part 2} | The Sweet I Do's

The Day I became Mrs. Cole The Sweet I Do's | photo by Something Gold| Styling by Forever Cole

I am not going to lie I had dreamt of this day for a very long time, and when I started working for a bridal boutique a few years back my LOVE for weddings grew even more. With this being said I still can't even put into words how amazing and unforgettable the ceremony was and being able to spend it with my forever date, Mr. Cole.

So Mr. Cole and I are not the type to play the wedding march or have traditional vows so we spent time researching vows online and ceremony scripts. We just wanted to have something that was us and those just weren't our thing... Ohhhh I left out the small detail that we had the wonderful honor of having my uncle Mark be the one to marry us. He became licensed just for us which was a gift in itself.

The weeks leading up to the ceremony we spent quite some time looking at scripts, vows, and music. I KNEW for sure that I was walking down to Cinema by Jason Evigan {link to song here}. This song is one that my hubs has played at several of his shows{ I may have left out he is a DJ}// not this version but this one just really made us smile & fit us as a couple.  Picking out your ceremony & reception music can be fun, but can also be a struggle. I think I will leave this topic for an entirely different blog post.... now back to the ceremony. Are you ready for pictures? I am!!

Other than marrying my best friend this was one of the greatest moments, blessings, and life experiences ever... having my papa walk me down the aisle. I have always been a papa's girl {yes, I am southern and call him papa}. I think who gives you away at your wedding is something you should really consider and take pride in. It's traditionally someone who has raised you, influenced you, and/or has been there for you in life.Having this be my papa meant the world to me  and even more so that he felt honored to do so.

Our wedding party was the BEST!!! We picked people who meant something to us, we respected, loved, and wanted to have by our side. Not only did they make us feel so loved on the wedding day, but they also hosted a couple's shower and took us on amazing bachelor and bachelorette trips.

The attire we chose for the bridesmaids was anything navy. I love unique detail and love variations of styles. I think each dress showed each girl's personality and LOVE them all. It's also something they can wear again so that made me happy. There's nothing worse than having to wear something uncomfortable or something you don't care to wear in the future. My only rule was NO COWBOY BOOTS!

The attire for the men was charcoal fitted slacks, with white button ups, and we bought the neckwear for them Half wore a bow tie and half wore a tie, but they were all the same pattern. Mr. Cole wanted them to feel comfortable but in style. We chose not to rent the suits since I am rather picky and wanted the pants to fit to each person's body type. They actually spent the same amount of money on the suits as they would have renting them. So to me it's a win/win for both :) !

Now for the ceremony. Like I said I walked down to Cinema by Jason Evigan. I can't listen to this song without crying {happy tears, of course}. We kept it short and sweet. We had Mark start off with prayer as blessing our marriage was the MOST IMPORTANT thing we wanted and how we wanted to start our lives as one.

I'm not going to lie I am pretty sure I may have temporarily blacked out, because the ceremony was over in no time and before I knew it we were being announced as Mr. and Mrs. Brian Cole .  We wanted to walk out to something that Brian was very passionate about and the lyrics said it all.... You and Me by Bassnectar Ft W/ Darling {link for song here}.

'Cause it's you and me against the world now
And it's you and me against the world now'

The pictures truly don't show how much love, support, and blessing we felt during our journey leading up to the wedding and on our wedding day. Having someone who knows you being the one to marry you, having your papa walk you down the aisle, and then having everyone we chose to stand by our side and attend the celebration just was icing on the cake.

I don't know if I have mentioned this enough, but our photographer was the BEST. She picked the perfect time for us to have our sweet nuptials and when the sun would be perfect not only for pictures, but so it would really make the backdrop shine.

The Day I became Mrs. Cole The Sweet I Do's

We didn't want to do a grand exit since it would be dark and the concept we had was to leave in this classic car that actually belongs to B's grandfather. We also didn't want everyone coming down to see us off when before our photographer left for the night so we staged this right after the ceremony. I am beyond in love with how these turned out. Something Gold Photography made these images look like they came straight out of a magazine!
